Regions of Wisconsin

The students had a fun time frosting sugar cookies to represent the 5 regions of Wisconsin!
Lake Superior Lowlands = white
Northern Highlands = green
Central Plains = red
Western Upland = blue
Eastern Ridges and Lowlands = yellow

Of course they enjoyed eating them, too!

Meet Mrs. Akey

Welcome to fourth grade!  I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning and fun.  My favorite part about the first few days of school is meeting and getting to know my new students.  I like to share a little about myself with my students as well.
So let's get started ... it's time to MEET MRS. AKEY!

My husband and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary this summer.
He is a middle school/high school social studies teacher in Westfield, WI.
We have 2 children: Connor (5th grade) and Natalie (3rd grade).
They both attend Howe School.

Our dog, Jack, provides a lot of entertainment around the house.
He is 5 years old and full of energy!

Connor and Natalie both enjoy shooting archery.
They also take piano lessons and like performing in recitals.

Connor plays on a traveling basketball team.
Natalie takes dance lessons - ballet, tap, and jazz.

As a family, we enjoy camping during the summer.
Our favorite place to camp is Devil's Lake State Park in Baraboo, WI.

This past summer, we also took a trip to Missouri.
These pictures are from a weekend in St. Louis.
We enjoyed visiting the Gateway Arch, Old Courthouse, St. Louis Zoo, Forest Park, and the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis.

After that, we spent a week in Branson, MO.
It was HOT - almost 100 degrees every day!
During our time in Branson we saw 2 shows - Dixie Stampede and Jonah, went to Silver Dollar City, toured the Titanic Museum, and explored the Marvel Cave.
