This year the students will be assessed on basic math facts fluency. The assessment will consist of 40 mixed problems (+, -, x), and the students will have 2 minutes to complete it. This will show true fluency/memorization. Scores will be recorded at a district level three times a year (fall/winter/spring), and at a building level once a month (during the third week of the month). I will try to administer the test several times a month to help the students prepare. The problems will be different for each assessment. Studying at home will be necessary, and I will help to provide resources for this. I stress with the students that mastery is not expected now, but at the end of the year. Each time I will be looking for improvement. Thank you, parents, for helping your child meet the end-of-the-year goal!
